APPARITIONS 53 TO 71
THE "EUCHARISTIC WEEK" (21-28 June 1962)
Previously the Thursday which followed the feast of the Holy Trinity was reserved as Corpus Christi.
This feast, which solemnly commemorates the Sacred Body of the Lord, was the first day of the Octave of the Blessed Sacrament (the Eucharistic Week) during which the liturgy gave special honour daily to the Blessed Eucharist.
That Octave used to finish on the following Thursday with the feast of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus.
It is this Eucharistic Week that Christ invites us to revive at Kerizinen by appearing on eight consecutive days to Jeanne Louise, from June 21 (Corpus Christi) to June 28 1962 (Feast of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus), that is from the 53rd to the 60th apparition.
All the themes of the Messages in this Eucharistic Week will focus on the Eucharistic Love of Christ.
Jeanne-Louise will receive a mystical Communion from His hands everyday, except sundays.
During these apparitions, Christ will be dressed in the same garments as in earlier apparitions, but they will be brilliantly white, recalling the whiteness of the Host.
All of these apparitions took place in Jeanne-Louise's house at about 8 o'clock in the morning.
THE FIFTY-THIRD APPARITION
CHRIST
THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 1962 - FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY BODY OF CHRIST or CORPUS CHRISTI
The first day
"Throughout the ages, I have revealed My Eucharistic Love. I do not tire of reiterating it. (1)
You will be the notary each day during this Eucharistic Week. Do not make any effort to remember My words as in the past. I will become your memory to write them down. (2)
Do you understand sufficiently that I created the Host out of Love, to become the Life of your life ? To make you ascend, I descend, I annihilate Myself, I become your slave. Holy Communion is strength united to weakness, holiness joined to misery. I enter your souls bringing a torrent of graces. 1 give of My treasures in accordance with the degree of love which they possess. My delight is to dwell in them so that they may be transformed from being poor and destitute to being holy.
See how good I am, how the Love which I bring to My creatures is great ! Nevertheless I am very little loved. Many even consider Me as an obstacle to their happiness".
(1) How could we fail to think here, besides others, of certain pages from the "Holy Hours" of Father Mateo Crawley-Boevey (1875-1960) ; in effect, during this "Eucharistic Week" Christ will repeat here at Kerizinen many of the confidences He made to the "World Apostle" of His Sacred Heart.
(2) Jeanne-Louise used to repeat the Messages which were given to her, fearing that she would forget them. This recalls Bernadette Soubirous, who repeated constantly the words "Immaculate Conception", so as not to forget them.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 1962
The second day
"In your days people are more than ever anxious to see miracles and to hear of novelties. The most beautiful of all My miracles passes unperceived by a multitude - it is My Eucharist.
Many would even like to see Me visibly ; but all those exterior favours which I grant are not worth one single Communion ; this gives you the Author of everything good.
Come often to the foot of My altars ; you will hear the beatings of My Heart, which are beats of Love.
My heart living in the Host is a constant, permanent miracle. What more do you need ?"

CHRIST
SATURDAY, JUNE 23, 1962
The third day
"I thirst for souls. I wish to reawaken My Eucharistic Love in your souls. Approach Me with confidence. I do not like timid souls.
Come often to the Holy Table. Come in spite of your spiritual destitution and your defects. Come precisely because of your imperfections, for the Eucharist is not a recompense for merit and holiness but the means to reach there.
The Eucharist strengthens the spiritual life of man, it consoles and regenerates your souls in ail possible ways. And if you allow Me to act, very soon I would transform your souls into living ciboria where I could dwell unceasingly and no one would notice anyone else but Jesus Himself living in you and leaving behind Him a trail of Light and the balm of His Heart".
THE FIFTY-SIXTH APPARITION
CHRIST
SUNDAY JUNE 24, 1962
The fourth day
"Today, you will assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receive Communion from the hand of the priest. (1) Many do not understand the grandeur of the Sacrifice of the Mass ; this treasure of graces is another Calvary.
How I wish all My priests to be pure at the altar - There they are other Me - seraphims of love and purity. I want them to be saintly so as to form many saints.
After the Elevation, when I am on the altar as a Victim, I would like to find in My priests a support, a good Cyrenean. With what Love I wish to place My bleeding arms around their necks and draw them to My suffering Heart ! 1 have a burning desire to draw all My priests into the intimacy of My Heart. Indeed there are many who console Me.
I love My dear priests so much and I desire that they deal with Me in a loving way at the altar. Their love is the gauge of the favours which 1 will grant them.
I am so happy to be born in the hands of a priest full of love ! I rest on him, I draw him against My Heart as I did in the past for John, My beloved disciple."
(1) During the "Eucharistic Week", just as during the years 1955-1956, Jeanne-Louise never received mystical Communions on a Sunday. As the Church required, she went to Sunday Mass in her parish. This shows us the importance of sanctifying the Lord's day.
We notice only one exception, that of Sunday, October 14, 1956 when Jeanne-Louise was dispensed from hearing Sunday Mass in the parish by her parish priest, because of the reading of the first prohibition.
THE FIFTY-SEVENTH APPARITION
CHRIST
MONDAY JUNE 25, 1962
The fifth day
"I have always loved you with an ineffable Love. In the institution of the Eucharist, My Love has reached the wildest extravagance. There I am a prisoner since the Last Supper ! The inseparable friend and companion and fellow-traveller for My brothers ! There I am, a prisoner of My Love !
Come and console Me. Come often to receive Me in Holy Communion. For the soul who loves Me, Holy Communion is the mystical renewal of the Incarnation.
Love Me, for there are so many who cause Me to cry. My Love is little understood and poorly recornpensed. Cold and indifferent souls receive Me in their hearts but they tie My hands, I cannot act in them.
But you who love Me, forget the veil of the Sacred Species when you receive the Sacred Host so as to concentrate all your attention and the adoration of your souls on Me present in you to make you holy. Thus your souls will be transformed through My divine touch.
Prolong your thanksgiving in silence and recollection and you will understand My wishes. Be attentive to what I, your Master, may desire from your souls. Do not be afraid when I have spoken. In particular do not fear sacrifice, for what I need to reawaken the World are souls full of faith, holy luminous and simple souls.
The world has much more need of witnesses than of apologists."

TUESDAY JUNE 26, 1962
The sixth day
"Many honour My Passion on Calvary but forget My mystical Passion in the souls of sinners. Understand that My Passion is renewed each day in two forms : through love and through hatred.
It is My Love which places the Cross on the altar each day, so as to apply to souls of good will ail the merits of My sufferings and to wash them in My Precious Blood. On the other hand hatred renews ail the sorrows I endured before My Death, through the blasphemies and the sacrileges of the enemies of My Eucharist.
I thirst for souls. I love ail souls with a tender Love, for each one of them is like a part of Myself. The soul is the price of My Blood shed during My dolorous Passion.
I am so lonely in My tabernacles of stone ! I want living tabernacles who console Me with their love. My delight is to be with the children of men."
THE FIFTY-NINTH APPARITION
CHRIST
WEDNESDAY JUNE 27, 1962
The seventh day
"If you only knew the black ingratitude of men who trample underfoot the most beautiful testimonies of My Love ; My Crib, My Cross and above all the Host. They pile up crime upon crime. Many persecute Me as Herod once did. The hatred of My enemies grows worse day by day and in spite of that I continue to be their God of Love and Mercy.
Love Me for those who do not love Me, for those who persecute Me. If the good were better, there would not be so many wicked people.
But they will only become better by loving and honouring better My divine Heart hidden in the Host."
THE SIXTIETH APPARITION
CHRIST
THURSDAY JUNE 28, 1962 - FEAST OF THE EUCHARISTIC HEART OF JESUS
The eighth day
"I knock at every door but few reply to Me. Come to receive Communion, generous souls, to compensate for the frigidity and the forgetfulness of so many indifferent and ungrateful Christians and to atone for the outrages of every kind, of which I am the silent victim in the sacrament of My Love. What a sweet thought to be able to say - by this Communion 1 give back to Jesus the glory which sinners and sacrilegious persons deny Him.
My Eucharistic Tabernacle too often becomes the very prison of Holy Thursday night. The torrent of insults, abuse and blasphemy of that night is nothing compared to the torrent which for twenty centuries has been invading My pious Eucharistic dwelling-place. Betrayals, sacrileges and desertion sully My adorable Countenance and transpierce My Heart.
I hunger and thirst for love, I hold out My arms to you as I would to My Mother. I call upon you with a gesture of Love. Help Me Love Me! "
THE SIXTY-FIRST APPARITION
THE SACRED HEART(1)
FRIDAY JUNE 29 1962 - FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART (2)
"Come close to My tabernacles, friends of My Heart, for I want to draw your attention again to a sorrow just as real as the red wound made in My side by one of your faults - that was a cruel wound indeed, as are the tears wrung from Me by the good who call themselves My friends.
This wound rebukes the lukewarmness of the just who are My very own ! How they wound My Heart by rationing out their love !
There are thousands of souls who would be saints already if they had thrown themselves generously into the bottomless warmth of My heart where their spiritual life began. All these souls belong to Me by right but tepidity arrests them and paralyses the surges of the heart. These are good souls but they do not vibrate for the interests of My glory. They see Me bound and solitary in My Eucharistic prison but My solitude does not touch their hearts. In fact it fatigues them. How unhappy these poor souls are ! An icy coldness grips them and wounds Me at the same time, and, not knowing what to say to Me, their prisoner of Love, they depart and leave Me, like the apostles, grappling with My distress.
But you generous souls who thirst for My very bitter tears repair, this very day, the very cruel wound made in My heart by the lack of delicacy and generosity in a very great number of My own. To remove the sadness which they cause Me, make reparatory Communions, sing hymns of ardent atoning love for Me, sing of My glory in the triumph of My Heart and because of you 1 will forget all their offences. Look again at that wide, deep wound ; it has been caused by those of My own household.
You who burn with the celestial flame of charity, have pity on Me!
I seek everywhere for faithful souls, for apostles with whom I could share My confidences but I find very few of them because I preach, I redeem and sanctify souls on the Cross. Most of My friends hold that Cross in horror.
You who love Me sincerely, offer Me your love, your sacrifices and your desire for holiness. Offer your reparatory Communions to Me often. Be ardent apostles ! Win Me souls ! Meditate upon My Heart which has so loved men. Behold it saturated with insults in the divine Host. Listen to the palpitations of its Love. Look at the flames of charity which devour it.
Little souls, humble hosts truly forgetful of yourselves, here is My Heart. (3) I give it to you in exchange for your stunted and ungrateful one. Will you accept it ? Then stretch out your hands, open your souls to Me so as to receive the supreme gift of My redeeming Mercy. Keep your eyes fixed on the wound of My heart and by means of that divine wound, contemplate this Heart which has loved you so much and is all yours in the burning bush of the holy Altar, in the Blessed Eucharist.
Alas ! No ! My Love, My great Love is not loved ! And I feel again the pains of the Agony !
Reparatory souls, pull out today the thorns which encircle My Heart. It will be a blessed hour for you, but even more so an hour of glory for Me, a God made captive, who offers you My Love but expects yours in return.
Become My consoling angels. Support Me in My mystical Agony. Approach ! Here is My Heart which has never ceased to love you. Come eagerly for I wish to confide It to you as a pledge of resurrection. Come ! And give Me your heart in exchange for Mine. Consecrate to Me your soul and your whole life, with its joys and sufferings. Be Mine ! I am only asking for your love. Love Me I Win Me souls and offer yourselves as a holocaust for the extension of My Reign of Love. If you only knew the thirst (4)of immense love which consumes Me in the sacrament of the altar!
I give you these Messages just as if I were speaking to you from the very heart of My tabernacles, and when I make Myself known to one soul, I make Myself known to all."
(1) On this feast-day of the Sacred Heart (Friday June 29 1962), distinct from the other days of the Week, Christ revealed His Sacred and Merciful Heart to Jeanne-Louise. It had a completely human appearance and did not bleed. It was surrounded by rays of light and there were two luminous beams bursting forth from it, one red and the other white, symbols of the Blood and Water.
Note that we are not dealing here with an apparition of the Sacred Heart as it was described by Margaret-Mary at Paray-le-Monial ; this description here is supplemented by the vision of Sister Faustina. In effect Jeanne-Louise saw the Sacred Heart (Paray-le-Monial) and the two red and white beams (the Merciful Christ of Sister Faustina).
Here again, Kerizinen reveals itself as a synthesis of earlier revelations.
(2) It was Christ at Paray-le-Monial who asked Margaret-Mary that the Friday following the Octave of Corpus Christi should become the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
(3) Generally speaking, the apparitions of Christ and the Blessed Virgin at Kerizinen are accompanied by very little movement. However during this apparition Christ showed His Sacred Heart to Jeanne-Louise several times.
(4) During this "Eucharistic Week", Our Lord repeats three times the fifth phrase which He used on the Cross "I thirst". (John XIX, 28).
THE SIXTY-SECOND APPARITION
CHRIST AND THE BLESSED VIRGIN, HEARTS UNITED (1)
SATURDAY JUNE 30, 1962 - FEAST OF THE MOST PURE HEART OF MARY
Before the Blessed Virgin gave Her Message, Christ gave Communion to Jeanne-Louise with the Blessed Virgin present.
This is the last mystical Communion of Jeanne-Louise.
The Blessed Virgin :
"Today many honour My Most pure Heart, but the aim of this Feast should be above all to glorify the exchanges of ineffable Love which exist between My Heart and the Heart of My Divine Son (2).
Many are the pious souls who prove their love and trust in Me but with a sizeable number of them, something important and essential is lacking : they are not sufficiently eucharistic.
Oh, My children, if you love Me truly, if your heart is seeking Mine and wishes to please It greatly, if you want Me to be your Mother in life and in death, prove to Me your filial tenderness at the Holy Table and in adoration near the tabernacle. Follow Me right to the feet of Jesus : as to everything else, He and I will do it together.
When you say that you love Me and then casually miss your Communions, it is as if you wished to separate Me from My Divine Son or place between Us a gap which We do not want and which should not exist between Our Two Hearts.
Yes, My children, I am pleased with your love, your trust and your prayers : I accept all that comes to Me from you. But no proof of filial affection will give Me more glory or be more agreeable to Me than to see you fall in love with Jesus in the Host, exciting in you a hunger which urges, impels and obliges you to approach the tabernacle.
May all My Feasts in particular become for you in some way Eucharistic Feasts. Let them be especially marked by the reception of Holy Communion!"
(1) Like all the apparitions of the "Eucharistic Week", this apparition took place in the house of Jeanne-Louise.
(2) At a later date Pope Paul VI will ask that the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary be celebrated, not on August 22 as was the practice then, but on the day after the Feast of the Sacred Heart, thus glorifying the "exchanges of ineffable Love" which exist between the Heart of Christ and that of His Blessed Mother.
THE SIXTY-THIRD APPARITION
CHRIST AND THE BLESSED VIRGIN, HEARTS UNITED
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2, 1963 - FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION AND FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH
The Blessed Virgin :
"My children, in the midst of this over-excited world where everything changes and passes away, be confident for God remains as He is.
You often complain of living in a century of hatred and egoism : it is because you live in a century of sin. And man, instead of having recourse to the Blood of Christ so as thereby to obtain pardon, is spilling that of his brothers in wars. The earth will continue to be dyed scarlet until the day when men, having at last recognised their sins, invoke the Blood of the Redeemer to obtain pardon and peace.
What marvellous clarity would light up this world of darkness where so many men are fighting without hope, harassed by a multitude of sorrows, if all the believers assimilated into their lives the message of Christ and proved themselves bearers of the promise of His glorious Return and of eternal Joy.
And you, recollected souls, do you want to make rapid progress in the ways of God ? Then live in His Presence I The only way to truly prosper is to be conscious of the Presence of God in everything. It is the only means of obtaining lasting results. During His earthly life, Jesus lived in contact with God, hence He spoke the words of Life.
Do understand that the practice of the Presence of God is the beginning and the end of virtue, the foundation and the root of the spiritual life and of all Christian perfections. It is a simple look which elevates you and unites you to God. It is a respectful silence before the majesty of God who is present and in this silence you annihilate yourself, you adore, you listen to God who is speaking to you. In this annihilation, your souls melt like wax in the heat of His divine Charity. It is also a sweet and intimate conversation with God, a holy repose for your hearts on His Heart, where you speak to Him as to a friend.
Souls who live in the presence of God see His action in everything, they are prepared for anything and capable of practising the most heroic virtues. They are courageous in trials and resist more vigorously in temptations. If they fall, they rise up again more quickly.
This Divine Presence will lead you to the interior life, to that intimate union with God which is the delight of pious souls, and it will inspire you with a purer intention in your actions.
On the other hand the failure to remember His Presence opens the doors of your heart to all the vices. Sinners do not have God in front of their eyes. That is why all their thoughts, words and actions are tarnished. Their hearts become soiled and corrupted.
Go on then, get to work 1 And if it should happen that several hours go past without your souls turning to God, do not be discouraged. You will soon come to love this exercise because it will become easy for you and as a result of the happy effects that you will notice in your behaviour, you will enjoy a great quietness and peace. Your hearts will swell, pouring out ceaselessly ejaculatory prayers which like darts of fire will strike the Heart of God and open it for you.
Confide your souls to Me ; I will keep them in a corner of My own so that they remain in the Presence of the One who is the Great Forgotten One and who nevertheless loves you. Only in Him can be found the salvation of Mankind".
Jeanne-Louise:
"Why do you communicate with me, since Iam only a sinner ? (1)"
Christ :
"I have chosen you in preference to others to demonstrate to souls My Love for destitution, since you are a mere nothing. Always remain humble and little. Give Me your love. 1 am a beggar for love. Write about how good 1 am. Oh ! How I love men, My brothers ! Oh ! That I could be born again to recommence My bloody sacrifice !
But priests are My cherished friends. How I love them . However I suffer from the indifference of a great number of them. Consecrated souls have given Me everything : I want to be everything for them. If you only knew the great joy that souls who devote themselves totally to Me give to My Heart ! I wish to attract them closer to My Heart as they need affection ; let them not seek it in perishable things but rather, close to My tabernacle where I will inundate them with My Love. My Divine Heart will reward them a hundredfold with affection. For if I love those who are faithful to Me and console Me in the Sacrament of My Love, I have a particular predilection for the souls of My apostles who dedicate themselves to making me known and loved. The more a priest loves Me, so much the more I will cover him with graces, and so much more easy will it be for him to have Me loved by souls and make Me shine forth on the Earth. The mouth speaks from the eloquence of the heart.
The priest should constantly consider the high dignity to which 1 have raised him and he should love Me above all. Then I will become for him his treasure. He who drinks of the water which 1 will give him will no longer thirst for earthly goods or the joys of this World.
Write down and pass on what I have told you without worrying. Your superiors must know My desires. (2)This is for the joy and the salvation of a great number of souls."
(1) Since 1961 the incomprehension only grew greater. Jeanne-Louise even begins to believe that her unworthiness is the obstacle to the Cause of Kerizinen. Discouraged, she no longer wishes to write down or transmit the Messages. Several times during this apparition and the next, Christ will say to her, "write, write...", and will explain the reasons for persevering.
(2) Jeanne-Louise always continued to pass on the Messages to the responsible authorities.
THE SIXTY-FOURTH APPARITION
CHRIST
TUESDAY MARCH 26, 1963
"Because of My infinite Love for your souls and in order to help you to climb more easily in the path of salvation, I multiply My interventions in this epoque where the earthly preoccupations of materialism and naturalism induce religions indifference and create a torrent of impiety. May nothing be lost of the immense benefits which these movements of My merciful Love can produce.
To all My faithful friends I make a pressing appeal to renew their Eucharistic Love. What I am awaiting from My friends is love and reparation.
In this small sanctuary - constructed so generously by sincere souls - where I have given so many signs of My Eucharistic Love, (1) I desire that My Holy Sacrament be reserved, with Masses and the reparatory Communions that 1 have already requested.
If you could only understand the desertion that I am suffering from in My tabernacles and the great pain that 1 experience from certain modern movements which insinuate themselves everywhere and which are contrary to your faith and to the tradition of My Catholic Church, undermining above ail My Eucharistic Presence from the point of view of piety, of faith and even of liturgy ! Gather round My tabernacles like a defence and a crown of love, for the joy and the consolation of My Heart. To compensate for this cold indifference and very painful isolation of My loving Heart, unite yourselves in heart and spirit to ail the Masses and Communions, prayers and sufferings of the Church and to ail the Eucharistic processions and honours paid to Me in the Sacred Host.
Why are My creatures so indifferent to Me ? Because they do not know Me ! They do not know how good I am or how much I love them. My Love for them is so great that I can scarcely contain it in My Heart ! It is like an immense ocean whose waves break powerfully against the sea-walls to remove them. Ah, to love men like this and to be forced to restrain that Love ! People do not want to recognize or accept It. That is the deepest wound of My most loving Heart.
The Host is the most marvellous creation of that Love which 1 bear for My creatures. And if I have instituted It in the form of food, it was to be able to unite Myself in the closest possible way to My beloved children.
Do show love then and make reparation."
Jeanne-Louise :
"Oh ! My Divine Master, how glad I am to see you again ! How I wish to love You more and more, to make up for so many offences and to win You souls. But in what feeble hands do you place your undertakings ! 1 do not want to write any more, it serves no purpose ; nobody wants to believe."
Christ :
"Banish every care and allow Me to act. I love to choose the weak to confound the strong and make My power shine forth, (2)particularly the power of My Love.
Everyone can take note of the marvellous transformation which I bring about in souls who respond to My invitations with a generous heart. What a blessed pointer for those who have lost the sense of the supernatural !
While respecting the liberty of your superiors, I am waiting for their decision to realize My plans of love. Condemnations wound My Heart, they are the opposite of My Love. I love all My creatures who are created free, free above all to live in the faith which God gives them. If the remembrance of God is fading more and more it is because the voices from Heaven, remedies granted to your century to confront modern progressivism and materialism, are being suffocated.
If you love Me, write. Generous love does not recoil in the face of suffering. Write down even what you have just told Me and your superiors will understand in what a weak state your soul is.
All the words which I spoke during My earthly Life were not spoken only for those who were listening to Me. I spoke them for ail souls who, in the course of time, would believe in My Love. Especially when I was giving My farewell discourse at the end of My earthly life, I thought particularly about My friends of the future. In the same way, when I speak to a soul, it is not for that soul alone that I speak but for ail souls who love Me. And if I do not speak to everyone, it is only because I wish to leave to those souls the merit of blind faith. Yes, happy those who believe without seeing.
Write also for Love's sake, to expiate for so many evil people who, with hatred of God in their hearts, ardently write books to pervert souls.
Do not be discouraged when you suffer for Me. Instead let the holy joy which is in your heart always shine in your face. Show yourself sweet and friendly towards ail those who approach you. See God present in ail souls and that will become easy for you. Make My Presence radiate around you by spreading a little joy amongst the souls which surround you. Speak to them of My Love, My tenderness and My kindness. Ask them to love Me and I will forget ail their faults.
The most beautiful proof of affection that you can give to a soul is to lead it towards Me."
When Christ and the Blessed Virgin appear together, the Sacred Heart always stands on the right of the Blessed Virgin, who customarily stands over the glass shrine set up in the Oratory.
When He is alone, He always appears in the same place, on the right side of the shrine above which the Blessed Virgin usually stands, as if Our Lady were there with Her Divine Son, although not visible.

(2) "For see your vocation, brethem, that there are not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble : But the foolish things of the World hath God chosen, that He may confound the wise ;, and the weak things of the World hath God chosen, that He may confound the strong. And the base things of the World, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that He might bring to naught things that are : That no flesh should glory in His sight". (St. Paul First Corinthians, 1, 26-29).
THE SIXTY-FIFTH APPARITION
CHRIST
SATURDAY MARCH 30, 1963
"With the Church and ail the souls who love Me, you will relive the dolorous Passion which I endured for Love of mankind. Meditate on ail that I did to prove that great Love.
From ail eternity, My Heart has pulsated with Love for men. For them I left the bosom of My Father to enclose Myself in the virginal womb of Mary Immaculate. I left brightness for darkness, the place of happiness for the valley of tears.
In Heaven, I listened to praises and benedictions, on Earth to blasphemies. In Heaven the Angels give proof of their respect ; on Earth I become humbly submissive, not only to Mary and Joseph, but to cruel executioners.
My Face shone with brightness ; on Earth, men blew upon it. I was dressed in the mantle of a fool and I had to suffer on the tree of the Cross. My royal crown was exchanged for a crown of thorns and My sceptre, sign of My Authority, was exchanged for a feeble reed. From the King of Heaven, My executioners changed Me into a King of tragicomedy.
In Heaven, I had the embraces of My Father ; on Earth, I embraced the column of the flagellation and the tree of the Cross.
Think often about these signs of Love which your Jesus gave, beginning with the Incarnation, which is the first link in that chain of Love binding Me to Mankind.
If you only knew the force of Love in My Heart ! That was what sustained Me on the way of Calvary. No one will ever understand the extent and the power of My immense Love. My Heart is an unfathomable abyss.
When I suffered the very painful falls under the weight of the Cross, it was not the arms of the executioners which lifted Me up, nor their kicks which made Me go forward but only the Love, the profound Love which I bear for men, My brothers.
Understand that I should already have died at the moment when the executioners placed the Cross on My shoulders. After such a terrible night, after the cruel scourging and the crowning with thorns, the very delicate body which the purest of Mothers had given Me had received enough to make it succumb. But My Heart was strong because of Love.
If you think that My Passion lasted for only one day, you are mistaken. My sufferings began from the first moment of My Conception. The Cross was always present during My hidden life. I shed tears thinking about the uselessness of My great sufferings.
Do not forget that to all My bodily sufferings were joined others, more painful still - the sufferings of My loving Heart. Remember that I suffered for each soul in particular. Each soul therefore is paid for by My Passion, in such a way that when a soul leaves Me it renews mystically My very dolorous Passion by demonstrating to the Heart of its Saviour the inutility of My Sufferings.
During My Passion I suffered much by seeing My Precious Blood trod upon. The first Christians used to collect the blood of the martyrs with pity and here you have the Blood of a God-Man falling on an ungrateful land, on unworthy executioners ! But My Heart suffered thinking how in the course of time this blood will not be respected sufficiently. Souls do not consider properly how, when receiving the Sacrament of Penance, they are as it were bathed in My Blood. I cleanse them ! If you only knew what abundant fruits you derive from a humble sincere confession !
When I was hanging on the Cross, I gave birth to all the elect amidst great sufferings ; the soul that suffers should be grateful to God since, here below, suffering has a very great value. I Myself am prepared to endure again all the sufferings of My Passion to save souls. That is why I relive It in a mystical way by suffering in the bodies of My friends.
And in spite of so much kindness, I am little loved. Men are ungrateful, they do not meditate sufficiently on My Passion. I have suffered so much in My Body and still more in My Soul. I love poor sinners, My brothers, so much and in return they make Me suffer.
If a man strikes his own head violently, people would say that he is mad. And yet this is happening every day ; the members are striking the Head. Yes, I am the Head and sinners are the members. They strike Me with every new insult made to My Divine Heart. Not only do they strike Me but some members cut themselves off from the Mystical Body, preferring sin to Me, which causes Me great sufferings. Ah ! if you knew the price of one soul alone.
This is why you should pray, pray a lot and suffer for your brothers the sinners. Think about these souls who are lost, they are the price of My Precious Blood. They are My suffering members, I shall love them until the last moment of their lives, a moment on which depends their eternal salvation."

CHRIST AND THE BLESSED VIRGIN, HEARTS UNITED
FRIDAY MAY 24, 1963 - WITHIN THE OCTAVE OF THE ASCENSION
Christ :
"Allow Me also to speak to you about My Mother. You call Her your Queen. She is a Mother more than a Queen, Mammy to ail and to each one in particular.
It is Her role to lead you towards God and to teach you to love Him, to arouse confidence and to instruct you in abandonment. It corresponds to Her also - and is it not in this that a mother excels ? - to bandage your wounds, to sweeten your disappointments, to console the embittered, the sick, the poor and the sinners. These are the favoured portion of Her flock.
But the hour of Her supreme vigilance and of Her most fearsome battle is that of the agony, where the child that She loves fights the final battle. She will not rest until the Angel of Judgement will have said : "Time is over !"
Keep her then very much alive in your families, your parishes and throughout the Church. If She is not in Her proper place, there is disorder and confusion.
Far from undermining the Grandeur of God, the honours and praises shown to My Mother glorify the Holy Trinity.
Do not separate what My Father has joined. Without My Mother, no Saviour, no Redemption, no church ! 1 wanted Her present in the Cenacle with My apostles for the descent of the Holy Spirit so that afterwards She may remain also present in the Church.
With truly Motherly tenderness She has watched over the cradle of the infant Church, where She has acted as Mediatrix and Model. She has always developed in the Church faith in Christ, the hope of a better world and the unanimity of charity.
This double role of Mediatrix and model is summed up in the essential role of Mother. A Mother transmits life to Her children while imprinting Her likeness on them. In contributing to the formation of the spiritual life of the Church and of Christians, My Mother tends to imprint Her resemblance on them through Her Motherly influence. She induces the community to pray, to believe, to hope, to love and to continually strengthen its bonds of unity. The chief concern of a Mother is to achieve harmony among Her children, for Her motherly heart suffers from all the arguments.
All the separations which have occurred between Christians throughout the history of the Church have particularly pained the One who is the common Mother of all. She has suffered the tragedy of all the separations and wounds to unity more vividly than any Christian here below. She wants the atmosphere of the Cenacle, unanimity in charity, to be renewed and continued within the Church. She is therefore the hope for unity in the Church.
Let there therefore be no wilful obstinate orphans who resist the caresses of My Mother ! What She looks after is well looked after.
You especially who have charge of souls, remain in the school of My Mother. Drink in long draughts from Her Immaculate Heart the strong, mellow doctrine, the solid, luminous and authentic doctrine of Divine Mercy so as to apply it to souls. Beseech Her to impart to you the true meaning and the priceless gift of the apostolate. Consider Her great servants (1) : among them you find that kindness and apostolic sweetness, that immense piety, that leniency and melange of strength and maternal goodness which they have acquired in their close, filial relations with My Mother - as well as the rigour and the intransigence of doctrine and of principles. It was because of that that they overturned the World and were, in spirit and in truth, victorious messengers of the Gospel, apostles and reformers powerful in words and rich in deeds."

THE SIXTY-SEVENTH APPARITION
OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 25, 1964
"I am the way which leads to the Lord. I invite you to love, to go forth, to meet, to excel yourself. Follow this route with Me and you will not walk in darkness but you will possess the Light of Life, that Light of Christ which has risen over the World. It will penetrate your whole life. It will triumph in you over the darkness of evil and inundate you with the strength, peace and joy of God.
Love, first. Love Jesus preferentially. He does not cease to lay claim to your heart, to repeat to you that He wants to be loved and that love is the greatest and the first of His commandments. He wants to have the first place in your heart but He leaves to you the freedom of giving that to Him yourself. It is this duty fulfilled which He rewards and this inclines Him to grant you many new graces. The joys and the affections of your world would take on unheard-of charm if you would subordinate them to the primordial duty, which is to love Jesus first and to love everything in Him and for Him.
Go forth, meet. In the midst of the darkness of your poor world, the Holy Vicar of My Son understood that the hour had come for him to journey to Bethlehem (1), where he called down on the altar of the Stable the glorified Child which the Magi Kings had adored.
And further away, when he met with and embraced that other Christian Pastor (2), you saw the sweet and humble Love of My Divine Son redescend upon the earth in front of all the nations, something which must give you hope that you are drawing near a great consolation for the Church, a world-wide recognition of Christ.
After the example of the Holy Father and in support of your priests you also, as Christian apostles, should go to meet those souls who, in the darkness of their lives, await someone to restore their hope and tell them again of the Love of that God whom they have forgotten or never known. Bring them something of what you yourselves have received, something of that abundance of graces and that plenitude of God.
Be real Christians, Christians who stand up and are not afraid to go forth and to encounter, excelling themselves for others. Be the revealed truth for those who are seeking it for your era demands what is true. In the evening of your lives, how sweet will be your meeting with Christ the Lord since on Earth you were His witnesses announcing His Kingdom and edifying His Church.
Unite your prayers and sacrifices to the efforts of your bishops who are working and reflecting together preparing formulations for unity and peace which will bring about world harmony. (3)
Love, assist and pray more and more so that soon, in every nation, the majority of minds, liberated from false doctrines by an authentically mystical, scientific and social Catholicism, come to kneel down humbly behind the Holy Father at the feet of your Jesus, King of Mercy and Love.
No one should doubt that the union of hearts is already developing and that from this union devoted to works of charity, both material and intellectual, will gradually come unity of minds, the marvellous sign of that love which uplifts the World."
(1) On January 4, 1964 Paul VI went on pilgrimage to the Holy Land. As a Messenger of Peace, he went to that corner of the world where hatred and war rage. In the heart of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, he celebrated Mass on an altar of wood specially erected near the Holy Sepulchre where the Body of Christ was laid after his death on the Cross. The Pope was so moved that tears ran down his cheeks, hollow with tiredness.
(2) On the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 1964 Pope Paul VI met Patriarch Athenagoras. Not since the year 1439 had the Patriarch of Constantinople met with the Head of the Catholic Church. Paul VI said : "Great is our emotion in this truly historic hour when, after centuries of silence and expectation, the Catholic Church and the Patriarchate of Constantinople find themselves in each others' presence again
(3) A very clear allusion to the Second Vatican Council which was held in Rome in four sessions under the pontificates of John XXIII and Paul VI (1962-1965). This Council was convoked to secure the renewal of the Church in the modern world and bring about Christian Unity. (Larousse, p. 1626, 1980 edition).

OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY
SATURDAY MARCH 14, 1964
"May your repentant love and faith encourage you to relive the sorrowful scenes of the great mystery of your salvation and assist you to better understand the value of suffering and the Cross.
God did not create suffering and death : man has introduced them through sin. God is life, and sin is the rejection of God. What a marvellous resource of the Love of God to transform suffering, the natural fruit of sin, into an instrument of salvation when it becomes a purification for those who accept it in a Christian manner, trying to perceive and appreciate the plan of God.
Suffering is therefore a teacher of Divine Wisdom. It helps you to live in your faith, hope and love for God alone, something necessary for those who wish to enter into His Joy.
When you are suffering, think about Christ who is very close to you and looks at you, loves you and leans towards you to give a meaning to your suffering. Since Christ, the meaning of suffering is no longer an agonizing problem, but simply a resemblance and a moving election. The persecuted, the innocent, the afflicted and the despised can discover in Christ the holiest and most noble model for what they have become.
Suffering is an extraordinary power conferred on you and not a mutilation, or a defeat, but a victory ; from now on, the Body of Christ is you. You must continue to suffer to enter into Glory while bringing with you those whom the Father has entrusted to you.
If your earthly pilgrimage is punctuated by the stations of the sorrowful way which Jesus Himself followed, you are also aware that this allows you to sail towards the shores of Eternal Light and unending Joy. It is necessary to suffer and die with Christ in order to live with Him.
The joys which you experience may mislead you but the crosses never will. They are so precious and meritorious that your Heavenly Father does not want to deprive you of them. Indeed at the very moment when pain strikes you, He speaks in your heart paternally and secretly. He lays siege to it and if you are open to His Grace, He will cause a cry of resignation and faith in His Love to rise from your lips, thus causing His Glory to shine forth.
If God allows you to suffer, be certain that He loves you. Only in Heaven will you understand the value of suffering. Would you wish to follow a road other than that of Jesus Crucified ? Remember that, at the moment of expiring, He issued a loud cry ; (1) That was to call all men to the foot of the Cross, to tell them how to love and how they also must practise charity and accept suffering.
All your pains, crosses and sufferings are a participation in the passage of Christ towards the true Life, a contribution to the sacrifice which gains the Earth for Him and opens Heaven. Abandon yourself to Him who can bring death and life so that He may realize in you His work of grace.
The merit which comes forth from your sufferings is not a benefit just for the one who suffers ; it has value for the whole Body of Christ, since it is the fruit of charity. Thus every suffering accepted through love has a redeeming power. Souls have been helped, sustained and saved because, some day, someone prayed and suffered for them.
If the Cross caresses you with its bleeding arms, be courageous and offer your sufferings for the poor abandoned souls, denied any help, who struggle in darkness, searching in vain for the powerful lighthouse beam capable of leading them to the shore.
Hence instead of causing you to pass only in a passive unproductive manner through the purifications necessary to enter His Glory, God allows the painful consequences of sin - personal sin and the sin of others - to molest you on earth while giving you the opportunity through the generous offering of your sufferings to advance in His Love and assist in saving others. This is truly the triumph of His Mercy.
Do not be sorrowful therefore if suffering is your lot but be very joyful in your hearts, since you know in advance that victory is assured - it has its source in the Risen Christ.
Live in this invincible hope of the Resurrection and in the pacifying certitude of being joined through grace to the life of Christ.
To make joy shine out on Earth is to give testimony to the Risen Christ. This is to arouse in your brothers the thirst to participate in it with you and the desire to know its secret."

CHRIST AND THE BLESSED VIRGIN, HEARTS UNITED
FRIDAY JUNE 5, 1964 - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
Christ :
"Bring the call of My Heart to all souls of good will. Let them animate Me with their love. Let them bring Me souls, souls ! Have I not died of love for them ? All the treasures of My Heart are open. The more the nations distance themselves from Me and reject Me, the more My sweet Mother urges Me to open the treasures of Love, Mercy and Sanctification in My Heart.
Certainly, the devotion to My Heart is widely spread (1). It consoles Me and gives Me a sizeable number of souls but yet the infinite treasures of My Heart are poorly understood ! My Mother urges Me and My Love urges Me to distribute these treasures, to invite good souls to come and be immersed and lost in this Ocean of Mercy and Love.
Ah ! If souls only understood the intense desire I have to be intimately united to each one of them ! If they would only distance themselves from material things and human impressions to re-enter alone the intimate centre of their souls where I am, they would find Me very quickly and then what a life of union, light and love would be theirs !
Let them also go with full confidence to My Mother, who is also theirs ! How much She loves souls ! How much She loves to petition Me on their behalf.
It is Her, yet again, it is My sweet Mother who urges Me to open all the treasures of My Heart, to make a new appeal to al[ souls of goodwill.
She is the delight of My Heart, My tender Mother ; may She be the same for yours. You should know that this Mother of Divine Love holds the secret to that marvellous union which My Heart, through an immense effusion of mercy and Love, is offering once more today to all souls as a new and great grace of sanctification."
The Blessed Virgin :
"Jesus is calling you. Give yourself over generously to His Love. Give Him back all that you have received and He will draw you to Himself by the attractions and the sweet inducements of His Love so as to oblige you to love Him as He loves you. He will penetrate you so completely with His Love that it will only be under the influence of His Love that you will know how to speak, act and love.
Love, and you will taste already here below the happiness of the true fatherland. Each act of love is a step which draws you closer to Heaven. To love is to light up your path with the brightness of a blessed Eternity.
Love, and you will spread about your footsteps the joys of eternal happiness.
Love, and you will become one with Jesus who is the centre and the focus of eternal union for the blessed.
Love, and you will not be living your own life any more but the very life of Jesus Himself, for love is the absorption of the soul into Jesus.
The enterprise of love which Jesus holds out to you is the life of charity, that life which He came to teach you Himself by His doctrine and example. Model your attitudes then on those of His Divine Heart. Love what He loved, detest what He detested.
Live in love and in charity and you will point out the true ways of God to a world in turmoil, but thirsty for peace.
Let My Divine Son ignite in you the fire of His Love and the flame of eternal charity so that only thoughts of doing good remain in your spirits. May you be so kind and joyful that all those who draw near you will feel His Divine Presence in you."

CHRIST AND THE BLESSED VIRGIN, HEARTS UNITED
FRIDAY DECEMBER 4, 1964 - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
Christ :
"Remain closely united in heart and spirit to that beautiful Eucharistic Congress (1), to the ceremonies of adoration and to all the honours rendered to Me in the Host.
When on the eve of My Death I discovered in My Heart and also in My power the secret of being at the same time the God who goes away and the God who remains behind, I created the Eucharist. I created the Priesthood and also all the public liturgical ceremonies which would, in the course of time, be directed towards the Eucharist. They atone for the cold indifference with which I am so often treated in My Sacrament of Love.
Think about the overflowing joy of My Divine Heart on that evening after the institution of this Sacrament : then I thought of all the souls who in the course of time would find strength, joy and love in My Eucharistic Heart.
In creating the Papacy, I created the Holy Church. I love Her as a Spouse. What tenderness I show in watching over Her. As a faithful Spouse I give Her help and assistance. It is I who give Her life and strength while remaining hidden in the Host. It is through My Heart immolated each day on the Eucharistic Calvary that I pour over Her a river of graces and light.
As the material sun invigorates the earth made numb by winter so My Eucharistic Heart gives strength, light and warmth to the Church by animating it with Love.
If souls would only draw nearer to the Eucharist more, society would become more pure. I sanctify the body through My Divine Touch and 1 help the soul in its struggle against the world and its own passions.
Do you not remark surprising spiritual advances amongst eucharistic souls ? They become souls who make great progress Catholic sanctity blossoms at all levels under the influence of My Host. In every place that My Eucharist is honoured there are saints. Where it is ignored, holiness languishes.
What an abundance of graces and blessings I distribute in souls during this wonderful Eucharistic Congress ! But pray and think about that large crowd who for the most part assist at this divine spectacle without understanding. Think of those innumerable brothers of the world, incredulous, indifferent, sectarian, who, in spite of so many proofs, obstinately persist in ignoring Me, depreciating Me or blaspheming Me instead of bowing humbly, like My faithful servants, before this mystery of My Love and kneeling to adore Me with their whole souls, obedient to the discreet prompting of My Heart and of their hearts."
(1) This refers to the Eucharistic Congress at Bombay (December 2, 1964). Paul VI, in the Encyclical Letter "Mysterium Fidei" of September 3, 1965 will emphasize the importance of the doctrine and the cult of the Blessed Sacrament.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 1, 1965 - FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
The Blessed Virgin:
"I remain with you and watch with you, looking attentively after ail your little troubles, your efforts and your desires to love and this will continue as long as there is just one soul on the earth in need of My help.
I love your trust ; but it is not sufficient to take refuge on My shoulder and wait there with a trusting heart, when your eyes are closed to outside dangers. No, what 1 am asking from you is more austere and more exacting. Believe in the love that I bear for you.
To win the battle, you must also open your eyes completely in a world where danger abounds and needs keep recurring. You must love, pray, act, fight and die fully committed. So many grave matters require your prayers and the mobilisation of every spiritual quality !
To progress spiritually, you must banish every hostile feeling and ail rancour from your thoughts. You must love. Love is the perfect fruit of the spirit. It is coming forth to heal the wounds of humanity, to draw nations closer together in harmony and to bring to the world peace and prosperity.
To act in a spirit of love, God must be present in your conscience. Keep your thoughts focussed on the centre of your being, where the Divine Presence dwells, and you will make rapid progress in the spiritual life.
When you pray, believe firmly that it is God who is acting in you and who expresses Himself through you, and your prayers will become extraordinarily effective.
Do you want to win all the victories, those of the battlefields as well as those of that love which melts hearts and brings them back to the harbour of salvation ? Then pray the Rosary.
Down through the centuries, 1 have demonstrated how pleasing this prayer - a résumé of the gospel - is to Me. It is the providential remedy for the evils which afflict mankind. But it is only fully effective through the imitation of the virtues of My Son, which are revealed to you plainly and powerfully in the fifteen mysteries offered for your meditation. Try to become more deeply aware of this so that in your turn you may become, humbly but truthfully, genuine architects of peace and draw down on the Church and the world the Spirit of Love and of Light.
With your Rosaries make a wreath which will cover the earth with a wave of prayers. Once more it will stop the advance of the forces of evil which threaten humanity while hastening, without wars or revolutions, the peaceful triumph of My immaculate Heart in the peace, justice and love of Christ, My Son."
